1. What reason(s) are you pursuing for going to a gym?

2. Research what each gym has to offer

3. Visit gym(s) you were thinking about joining, then make a decision.

Here are some gyms to start you off:

Gold’s Gym

YMCA
Look for a YMCA near you. They offer great deals for family memberships and usually have a wide choice of fitness activities including gym, pool, basketball, etc.

American’s Stabilizing Their Eating Habits?

Posted in Nutrition News with tags , , , on February 23, 2010 by cavs535

In 2008, 34% of U.S. adults were obese, 3% more than the rate back in 1999.

“The obesity trend appears to be slowing down, but the prevalence remains high and continues to be a critical national health concern,” says Cynthia Ogden.

Today, 31.7% of kids are obese, 27% more than what was record back in 1999. Our nation has finally stopped skyrocketing with obesity rates, but leveling off at 34% obesity is nothing to be proud of. Is our nation really just going to shrug away the facts and move on with our daily lives without putting our two cents in?

Posted in Fitness Tips with tags , , , , , , , on February 19, 2010 by cavs535

Why?

- It has been proven to keep your heart healthy. A good 7 to 9 hour sleep will help keep your cholesterol and blood pressure stable.

- Your body is put into high alert with high stress levels in order to keep you awake without enough sleep. Another example of the risk of high blood pressure, causing heart attacks and/or strokes.

- Your body helps make repairs from stress, and damage because of protein molecules making repairs.
